I'm afraid I've ground to a halt. Run out of things to say. Got bored with the sound of my own voice. So I'm formally taking a blog break. I'll be back when I've got some fuel back in my tank...

  1. Seems like the whole blogosphere (at least the little corner I frequent) is winding down somewhat. Have a good break, recharge those batteries and come back soon.

  2. You too! As you said to me, you'll be back. I do hope you don't run out of fuel forever.

Perhaps when you come back, you can revive your diaries, unless you're adapting them into a TV series, which of course you should.

    Missing you already, actually.

  7. These people are too soft. This sucks and I'm gonna keep coming back every week and leave a nasty message until you come back.

    :)

    Enjoy your break ma'am.

  8. You're a pet, EF. A proper pet.

    1. Ah, thanks, C. It really is just a pause. I know for a fact I'll be feeling different in a couple of weeks! But I'll still be reading...x

  10. As one who has failed to follow this advice hundreds of times... if you have nothing to say, say nothing.

See you whenever. But just to say, *we* are not bored with the (virtual) sound of your voice.

    1. Still contemplating, John. From just around the corner.

  12. All right.... So, I miss your insightful English take on, well, everything. Can we expect something not merely "soon" but, um, like, now? ... Says the Yankee heathen....

    1. Steve, thank you. I've had three months away from blogging, and do finally feel I'm ready to start up again, for good or ill. You may be sorry you asked!

  13. And yes, my New Order post made me think of you, which sent me here, and disappointment followed.

  14. I'm on a new slab now...just in case, hope against hope, you decide to return.

    I hope you're well.

  15. I thought I'd check in and see if anything's changed. Sadly, no. You are missed.

  16. You're very kind, mister. I've been away from this blog so long I can't even remember how to log back in! Which actually feels a little shameful. I've thought several times over the last couple of months that I should get going again, though I had wondered if my "corner" of the web still existed at all. Good to know you're still around, anyway.

Perhaps if I can work out how to get back into my account...

  17. Hey there, I was just cleaning up bookmarks on an iPad and there was your blog.... “Holy shit, I loved every damn thing she ever wrote,” I said to myself. So, not only did you survive the bookmark purge, but I decided to leave a comment —yes, in the same spot where I’ve left ones previously, but not for a while. Urging you to restart the blogging appears to be a failure. So I’ll take one last crack at a simpler goal: learning that you’re doing so great otherwise (or not) that there’s just not time for blogging because life is so wonderful (or not). I haven’t been blogging much myself these last couple years, but the blog is still there and you can find my email address there as well. (Or not). Cheers.

    1. After some years of being locked out of my account, I (very bored during the scrag end of lockdown) managed to get back in again and found your really kind comments. I am sorry if I appeared rude, I just hadn't seen this last one (from 2018, wow.). I've no idea if this will get to you but what the heckins, I'll send it anyway. Hope all is well with you and that you're coping with all the craziness. All the best from the South Coast of England.

    2. Ha! I have no idea what brought me here, but here I am, some five months or so after your response. What a deeply inefficient communications method. :) Yes, I’ve survived the pandemic so far and I’d love to hear what you have been up to for the last, oh, eight years. Email me? Thepaleodrummer at gmail dot com. I’d love to reconnect. Just a quick buzz through your old posts took me back to the same conclusion about your writing skills. Cheers, Steve.
